Johnny Winter

This guy is so good. The tattooed texan albino is one of the best blues guitarists around. Muddy Waters once said: "Johnny Winter knows more about music than I do" which is a big thing coming from the guy who has been called the father of blues. It was the ultimate validation of a player who has been a controversial disciple of the blues over his 30 year career. Despite being slated by purists in the late'60s for supercharging their heritage with his go-for-broke renditions of blues classics, Winter's position as one of the pioneers of 'white' blues has never been in doubt. But his career has been erratic because of drug and alcohol problems. Johnny Winter  mainly uses Gibson Firebirds and Erlewin lazer guitars.
